Ford Explorer Wont Go Into Reverse. Transom fluid doesnt look good not brown but not like it should either. About 5 or 6 months ago it started grinding slightly but has gotten worse over time. It grinds when I put the car in reverse when I go above 50 miles per hour and also especially on hills. Yea the piece of wont go into reverse at all it just sits there and revs but it wont move.
On September 26 2013 I took my 2005 Ford Explorer to the Ford dealer freeway Ford in bloomington mn because I was having problems when I put the vehicle into reverse. Otherwise it works fine. Changed atf lever shifts but wont kick into gear. The first thing to go in a transmission is usually reverse. Is that the shift control cable maybe. In Boston MA on.
Also when im dribving and i get into third gear the transmission slips like crazy and it hits about 500 rpms at 40 mph it still accelerates but very slowly with the high rev and sometimes it eventually kicks into third gear all the way.
