2001 Mustang Exhaust Manifold Leak. Replacing an exhaust manifold may be necessary due to a leak in the manifold or to replace the stock manifolds with aftermarket options. Depends where the leak is if its at the flange like 99 of the exhaust leaks on these cars then you can get it welded. Right now it is making a loud ticking noise on the right side under the hood. The spark plugs are also new.
Off the car The metal gets thin here especially if it was ran for a long time with a leak. My dad refuses to believe that anything leaks hes put it up on the hydraulic lift searched for a leak couldnt find one. Ive had the entire H pipe down 4 times now and the d side pipe down at least 20. He wasnt able to give me the price because the shop was about to close and he has to lift it to be sure. I did find on my driver side front cylinder a little soot on the manifold pipe as it enters the base of the manifold.
Take a good look at the rear of the manifold. Thank you for your replies. Though you wont need it to remove the manifolds a torque wrench is essential in installing the new manifolds. So he sold it advised us that was the only obvious solution. Right now it is making a loud ticking noise on the right side under the hood.
